New Charity Partnership – St Vincent’s Family Project

St. Vincent’s Family Project is the latest charity to join Benefacto, offering our corporate volunteers the opportunity to use their skills helping vulnerable families and children in Westminster.

Parenting can be challenging at the best of times, but for families living in poverty with few relatives or friends to rely on the stress of bringing up children can be overwhelming.

St Vincent’s Family Project is a charity that  helps vulnerable families and children in Westminster facing issues such as social exclusion, child welfare and parenting struggles, by providing a range of professional, practical and emotional support services.

Children are at the centre of St Vincent’s operations, guiding them and their parents to develop the confidence to learn how to re-connect with each other and strengthen their relationships.

Families can come together to have fun and make friends in a relaxed and gentle environment and build those all-important communities so they don’t feel they are struggling alone. Professional help is also on offer in the shape of Parenting and Healthy Living courses, as well as access to child psychologists, therapists and behaviour management experts.

Benefacto volunteers will spend time at St. Vincent’s chatting to the parents and playing with the children, as well as helping to prepare and set up activities. They will hang out, share experiences and help to maintain a relaxed and non-judgmental environment where parents can feel better about themselves and more comfortable about making decisions.

St Vincent’s makes a real difference to people’s lives by tackling family issues in a targeted yet gentle way, helping them to help themselves.
