How to Build and Develop your Volunteering Programme Discussion

Doug Chang | 13 October 17

Last week, Manchester’s businesses, volunteers and charities met to discuss how to build and develop their employee volunteering programmes.

We were delighted to have an open and candid discussion about how charities, volunteers and companies can work together to help the local community.

The get-together featured both a talk from the private sector and the charity sector, followed by a panel discussion about how enthusiastic volunteers can become volunteer champions and how CSR professionals can use volunteer networks to promote their programme.

The evening ended in a chance for Manchester charities to meet employee volunteers and CSR professionals over drinks and chat about volunteering.

The Evening’s Agenda

  • “#VolunteerBuzz and Employee Volunteering”
    – Laura McGowan, MediaCom
  • “The Impact Employee Volunteers can Have on Manchester’s Charities”
    – Mark O’Pray, Get Ready for Work
  • “How Professionals can get More Involved with their Company’s Volunteering Programme”
    – Panel discussion

Panel Chair:

Claire Ebrey, Institute of Directors

We’d like to give special thanks to MediaCom who kindly hosted the event and to all the fantastic speakers, panellists and audience who took part in the discussion.
